POST COVID-19 RECOVERY PROGRAM

As patients recover from COVID-19, the medical community is discovering some patients continue to experience symptoms and side effects weeks and months after onset of symptoms.  These “long haulers” may experience shortness of breath, dizziness, fatigue, muscle weakness, and aches.  Some patients have been prescribed supplemental oxygen due to pulmonary side effects.

At Lifeline, we have expanded our multi-disciplinary pulmonary rehab program to specifically help these patients.  Our staff of physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and a social worker can address patient’s post COVID-19 persistent symptoms in all of the effected systems such as musculoskeletal, pulmonary, cardiac, vestibular, and even mental/behavior health challenges.  We can work with patients who have recently been prescribed supplemental oxygen as a result of COVID-19.  We continuously assess for ongoing supplemental oxygen needs/de-implementation as we focus on increasing strength, muscle function, respiratory function and breathing, and ability to perform daily activities.

Our one-stop-shop can address patient’s varied needs related to their COVID-19 recovery.  An initial assessment is completed to determine the patient’s needs and the team will address their needs in a coordinated care model.

Lifeline has been here and will continue to be here during and after the pandemic. We work towards improving understanding and confidence to increase independence.
