What is Cardiac Rehab?

Cardiac rehabilitation is a medically supervised program designed to improve cardiovascular health for individuals recovering from heart-related conditions or procedures. It encompasses three primary components:

  • Exercise Training: Structured physical activity tailored to strengthen the heart and improve endurance.
  • Education: Guidance on heart-healthy living, including nutrition, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Counseling: Support to reduce stress and promote mental well-being.

Engaging in cardiac rehab can enhance recovery, reduce the risk of future heart issues, and improve overall quality of life.

What to Expect During Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac rehab at Lifeline Therapy is a personalized, medically supervised experience designed to help you recover safely, build strength, and feel confident in your everyday life. Here’s what a typical program looks like:

  • Program Duration:
Most patients attend rehab 2 to 3 times per week for about 12 weeks, completing 36 total sessions.
  • Each Session Includes:
    • Warm-Up: Gentle stretching and light movement to prepare the body.
    • Monitored Exercise: You’ll walk, cycle, or perform strength exercises while we continuously monitor your heart rate and rhythm.
    • Cool-Down: Gradual reduction in activity to safely bring the heart rate down.
    • Education: Sessions include tips on nutrition, medication, stress management, and heart-healthy habits.
    • Progress Monitoring: Our team tracks your improvements and adjusts your plan as you build endurance.

You’ll never be alone — a trained team monitors your progress and safety throughout every session.

Patient Success Stories

I could not have asked for a better place to do my cardiac rehab. The staff here was genuine and so helpful. I actually had a good time while they were making sure I made the most of my recovery. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I had a very positive experience at Lifeline Physical Therapy to help with my recovery from heart surgery. My therapist, Kaley Booher, was great in developing a plan to enable me to regain strength and endurance so that I could get back to the activities I enjoy. She carefully listened to my goals and was quite creative in giving me exercises. She also was quick to make adjustments in the plan as needed.

I always found the staff friendly and accommodating, and there was plenty of equipment available to meet my needs. I felt comfortable in challenging myself under their watchful eyes as I resumed physical activities after surgery. I would certainly recommend Lifeline Physical Therapy as a professional place with caring staff that are very good at what they do!

Joyce.

Recently, I had the honor of using LifeLine Therapy for my cardiac rehabilitation. The people who worked with me helped me return to where I was before my health issue. The teams treated me like a family member, making the clinical process feel more personal. It was very encouraging to have people who cared, motivated and supported me throughout this journey. I want to highlight some of the amazing individuals from the LifeLine Therapy team who made this experience much better than it could have been. From Kaley’s leadership and encouragement to Sydney’s smile and support and Siena’s never-give-up attitude, I know they significantly impacted my overall perspective on the therapy and its outcome. It is wonderful to know that some still take pride in their work, which inspires those they are helping.

JK.
